Free carrier and Android spam filters work off delayed, database-driven number reports — a call has to be reported as spam by other users before it gets flagged, which is why fresh spoofed numbers still get through. Callro reads the carrier's STIR/SHAKEN verification status (Passed, Failed, or Unverified) as reported by Android, so it doesn't need to wait for a number to build a bad reputation first. If your phone's built-in filter is already catching everything, you don't need Callro — it's built for people whose free filter is letting spoofed and rotating numbers through.
What is the Gauntlet Engine?
The Gauntlet Engine is Callro's call analysis system. It runs verification checks — including carrier STIR/SHAKEN verification status, number frequency, and behavioral matching — to determine if a call is legitimate.
Does Callro need internet access to work?
The local screening engine does not require an active data connection once its required local data is present.

No app can control an external dialer's database. Callro stops flagged calls from ringing your phone at the operating system level so you are never interrupted. Whether an autodialer removes your number or attempts to call again is outside any app's control.
How does Callro recognize callbacks without reading my call log?
When you place an outgoing call, Android routes the call through the system screening framework, allowing Callro to securely record a cryptographic hash of the dialed number in local device memory. If that number calls you back, Callro recognizes the prior contact and lets the call ring through immediately — without ever requesting or accessing your device call logs.
