Why we built Callro
The median fraud loss for seniors aged 70 and older was $1,450 per incident according to the FTC Consumer Sentinel Network FY2025 data. The FTC processed millions of Do Not Call complaints in FY2025 alone. Imposter scams — callers pretending to be the IRS, Social Security Administration, Medicare, or a grandchild in trouble — accounted for the majority of these losses.
Most call blocking apps solve the wrong problem. They build massive shared databases of "known spam numbers" — which means they need your call data, your contact list, and your phone behavior to function. The surveillance is the product. Scammers rotate numbers constantly, so these databases are always playing catch-up.
